Star wars frozen in carbonite8/4/2023 While this does not link too much to Andorepisode 4, it is interesting to see Carbonite used in its intended way, as well as providing a fun easter egg between two of Lucasfilms' most popular franchises. However, if not, Lucas then had a backup plan and could simply have had Han's Carbonite freezing be his grim end. If Ford chose to return - which he did - Solo could simply be saved as shown at the beginning of Return of the Jedi. Therefore, as his character's future was uncertain after The Empire Strikes Back, Lucas opted to freeze the character in Carbonite so that Han Solo had an ending regardless of which way Ford's decision on his Star Wars future fell. Unlike Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford was only contracted to return for one Star Wars sequel. However, while this is the in-story, canon reason for the Carbonite freezing of Han Solo, there was actually another behind-the-scenes reason. Luthen's store, despite being a front for his illicit activity against the Empire, likely contains many valuable and fragile items, meaning it makes sense that he would use Carbonite to transport them - even if a replica of Indiana Jones' whip makes little sense beyond a fun easter egg.Īndor episode 4 showing the practical usage of Carbonite for storage does also further explain why it is used in bounty hunting, with the likes of Boba Fett and Din Djarin using Carbonite freezing to transport their own valuable bounty targets across the galaxy without resistance. I came across it while doing the quest Return of the Warrior. X:707, Y:692 It is found inside Fa’athra’s palace on Level 2. Not only is this a neat easter egg to another of the studios' franchises, but it also provides a look at how Carbonite is properly used in the Star Wars universe outside of bounty hunting: transporting goods. Carbon Freezing is the process of freezing stored tibanna gas in carbonite to preserve it while it was being transported over long distances. The only visible item is a Carbonite version of Indiana Jones' iconic whip from Lucasfilm's other famous franchise. One of these easter eggs, though, actually connects two of Lucasfilm's biggest properties while also providing the real reason behind the usage of Carbonite in the Star Wars universe. Others include easter eggs to Star Wars projects of past and present, with the murals from the World Between Worlds of Star Wars: Rebels (likely to be seen in Ahsoka in 2023) being visible in the background of one shot. Players won't have to wait long to find out more, and hopefully see some gameplay showcasing some of the explorable Star Wars locations, as the title was confirmed to be appearing at the upcoming June 12 Ubisoft Forward event. Some of these include a reference to non-canon elements, such as Starkiller's dark side helmet from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The first trailer for Star Wars Outlaws certainly looks to be telling an interesting, new kind of Star Wars tale in gaming that isn't centered around Rebels, Jedi, or the Empire, but instead, someone just trying to survive in the middle of the galactic conflict. With the Galactic Empire on the heels of the Rebel Alliance in this time period, the criminal underworld is thriving, and Kay seems to be taking full advantage of this as she " plays game". With this in mind, Tatooine and the Outer Rim seems like a fitting location for Kay Vess' story given her social standing in the galaxy. Han Solo (frozen in carbonite) is a minifigure based on the appearance of Han Solo after he was frozen in Carbonite by Darth Vader in Cloud City. Despite the Empire building the Death Star in the Outer Rim, and many Rebel Alliance bases being situated within this territory, crime syndicates such as the aforementioned Hutts were able to dominate entire areas with the Empire's blessing.
